As is customary at Hogar Santa Rita de Cascia, all special dates are celebrated as they should be, as a family, with the presence of our children, as protagonists forever, in addition to all the staff who work in the house for them. This could not be the exception, on the Children’s Day, every corner of the house was dressed in color, balloons and music so that caregivers, professionals, healthcare team, administrative staff, volunteers, added to some professional practice students, They will celebrate with joy in each of the rooms, making the children spend an unforgettable day.
Highlighting the importance of early childhood in society and promoting their rights is one of the main objectives of celebrating this date on the national and international level, although for the UN and UNICEF the date of celebration is November 20th, in Colombia for over 22 years it has taken place on the last Saturday in April. For Fundación Proyecto Unión, the care of sick children, as well as the fact of being guarantors of rights and promoter of equality and inclusion is a commitment assumed with responsibility more than two decades ago. At present we work so that there is not a single sick and abandoned child in hospitals of our country, that is why we are moving foward on the construction of a home called the “Hogar Amparo de Ángeles”.
Every day there is a reason to celebrate in the “Hogar Santa Rita de Cascia”, the joy that the arrival of new children causes us, the reintegration of others into their families, the achievements achieved despite difficulties, challenges and dreams compliments, but above all the fact of giving hope to hundreds of them, who amid their illnesses, strengthen us to fulfill our mission. In this way, thanks to the support of donor angels and volunteers, we will ensure that they never lack the love and care they deserve.
