With the purpose of putting into action their willingness to help the most vulnerable populations, the Division for University Well-fare of FUNDACION UNIVERSITARIA DE CIENCIAS DE LA SALUD organized a special day for the elderly street dwellers beneficiaries of the “María es mi Madre” dining room, in coordination with Daissy Muñoz, the process leader from Fundación Proyecto Unión.

Sixteen volunteers, among Family Medicine Residents, Professors, eighth semester students from the schools of Medicine and Psychology, gathered this morning at the seat located downtown Bogotá to serve the elderly and learn about the reality that hundreds of vulnerable elderly people live every day.

The purpose of this day was to conduct an initial assessment and interact with this group of people who need this type of professional services and accompaniment to improve their quality of life. We thank all of the attendees to this important activity for being an inspiration to serve, and for being part of this great team of volunteers in action who are changing the world.
