In recent days the Santa Rita de Cascia Home of the Union Project Foundation received a visit from the team of builders who are in charge of the Amparo de Angeles Home in the municipality of Tocancipá. The objective was to meet and interact as volunteers with the 60 children with complex illnesses who currently live in the home and who will be the main beneficiaries of this great social innovation project, which was designed to transform their lives.
The routine for all the members of the team was completely changed, since the hammer with which they work every morning became a story to read and share with our children, the preparation of cement and brick laying was replaced by pedagogical, playful and feeding activities, as well as taking the opportunity to take them around the house in wheelchairs and on the Pipe Bike, among others.
It was a different morning in which each of the volunteers had the opportunity to understand the level of importance and the meaning of getting up early every day to build this great dream, a home surrounded by the nature of the Sabana Ecopark, which will provide all the comforts and improve the quality of life for more than a hundred children in our country.
Feelings of joy and hope resulted from this great activity, led by the Volunteer Coordinator, Daissy Muñoz, but the most important thing was that motivation they took with them to move forward and with commitment the work of finishing this home that will undoubtedly change the lives of each of the beneficiary children”.
