The members of the team of volunteer caregivers of the Jaime Duque Park showed great joy and goodwill during their first visit to the Santa Rita de Cascia Home of the Fundación Proyecto Unión. This group of volunteers had the opportunity to get to know this home of 62 children and share unforgettable moments while doing tasks such as folding clothes, reading stories, feeding and playing with them.
This experience allowed the volunteers to grow professionally and personally as they are part of the “Centro Día de Cuidado Infantil” program in Tocancipá, which fulfils the mission of helping families who require the support of childcare while the parents work. Inclusion, camaraderie and hope were basic aspects that stood out during the home visit as volunteers.
The end result of this type of experience is very rewarding for the volunteers, as they not only put into action their desire to help but also learn and take in their hearts that smile or gesture of gratitude from the children who benefit from the home. Thanks to our unconditional partner, Jaime Duque park, this program translates into support and well-being for hundreds of families in the region.
