A novel entrepreneurship fair was organized by the members of the psychosocial team of the Union Project Foundation to value the great effort of each of the children who are beneficiaries of the Santa Rita de Cascia Home and to fulfill some of their wishes.
Leidy Zamudio, member of the team and social worker, told us how the fair arose because the children were doing handicrafts and motivational projects to strengthen their abilities, but they remained invisible and this time they wanted to make them known to our volunteer friends, interns, donors and friends of the foundation. In this way, with the money raised from the sales of the handicrafts, the team will buy some gifts to fulfill long-held wishes of the children.
On this occasion, all our great artists showed off with their works and handicrafts made with their hearts by the hand of the psychology and pedagogy teams and Maestro Arana, who voluntarily contributes his time to guide the children to capture their feelings in the paintings that make up the gallery of the house. For example, María José, 8 years old, dreamed of a giant Pepa Pig Figure, María Fernanda, 15 years old, who painted a wooden armadillo, wishes to have a bathing suit, Mario, 12 years old, dreams of his remote control car and so little by little they were all motivated to organize this great fair of entrepreneurship called “Manitas Creativas”, where the talent and dedication of the artists, served as inspiration to the buyers, who decided to take a little detail for their home, which will make them value forever that kind of special abilities that each child has.
This project motivates every day the important work of our psychosocial team, as well as the children who feel rewarded for their effort, that with their efforts and great work they can fulfill their own wishes. Thanks to the contributions of all those generous hearts that participated in the activity, today’s beautiful experience initiated the preparations for the Christmas exhibit.
