As for 20 years, on the last Saturday of the month at 10 am, our Santa Rita de Cascia Home is dressed in colour and joy because we celebrate the lives of the children and all the carers and friends. The Foundations Santa Rita de Cascia, Project Union together with Doctor Clown, join us to inspire and share with volunteers, families and companies the magic of music, applause, bubbles, cake, compotes, yogurt and all those details that come from the hearts of our donors.
Last Saturday after 18 months of the pandemic, we all encountered loneliness, fear, sickness, mourning, loss of work and lack of hugs and kisses, our doors were reopened and under biosecurity measures we managed to unite a small group to celebrate. Volunteers, whole families and fellow Medtronics, represented as parents with their children, carrying milk, diapers, as well as their joy and affection for the children.
On the other hand, the Foundation thanks all those who made it possible that the dormitory, Casa de la Esperanza, did not close its doors to 50 elderly street dwellers who went to sleep, that 120 grandparents were able to have breakfast and lunch daily in the Dining Room Maria es mi Madre, and our Casa de los Angeles was able to welcom children and their mothers from remote regions while their children received medical treatment. Also, all vaccinated at the Santa Rita Home have been able to open up more spaces to welcome volunteers and practitioners.
We also celebrate that the Centro de la vida los Angeles in the Ecopark Sabana, is progressing step by step. Thanks to our allies and donors, we are pleased to inform you that the construction of the Hogar Amparo de Ángeles, is progressing in its second and third phases. All this, plus the dream of having a Pediatric Center has not been extinguished, it has not diminished, on the contrary we are stronger because we count on each of you angel donors and that is why we decided to live with you the adventure of making invisible children the most visible.
