Helping others is a way of looking at reality straight to the face and avoid indifference; we must trust and understand help as an opportunity to experiment living faith, involving ourselves with others to contribute to meet their needs.
This made FCA Ingeniería SAS, a family business, visit Fundación Proyecto Unión, where, for more than 20 years our mission has been to bring back hope to vulnerable populations. Therefore, after learning about or reason for being and the social commitment we have towards children and elderly street dwellers, FCA put into action their willingness to help.
The first visit was to Hogar Santa Rita de Cascia, (Saint Rita of Cassia Nursing Home) where, additional to contributing with a significant donation, they had the chance to meet some of our children. To continue with this great mission, last Monday, they made themselves available to visit the Maria es mi Madre (Mary is my Mother) Dining Room, where they helped to serve breakfast: tamal, bread and hot chocolate. More than one hundred elderly people enjoyed this delicious breakfast that was prepared with lots of love.
«Moments like these give us a glimpse of reality, learning about the needs of elderly people, listening to them while they share their stories, gives us the strength to lend them a hand,” said Julian Castro-Quintero, Manager of FCA.
Thank you, angel donors, for your willingness to learn about reality and act selflessly, but most of all, for lending your hand to lift up those who had fallen apart and lost hope.
