Cintia Maldonado, a chemistry teacher and Anahí Casasola, a dentist are two young people from Argentina who decided to put their desire to help into action and came to the Fundación Proyecto Unión, through the agency AIESEC. From their first day at the foundation, these two young women showed all their love and professionalism to help as volunteers caring for the children of the Santa Rita de Cascia Home.

Early today, they went to the “Maria es mi madre” dining room in the city center, in the company of Daissy Muñoz, our Volunteer Coordinator, in order to learn about the needs and share with the elderly street dwellers. This program, which serves more than a hundred grandparents, was filled with joy with their presence, who were surprised by the order and the great quantity of food prepared there.

In this, their first visit, they helped to serve the lunches, and in turn gave a hand to the people in charge of the kitchen, peeling the potatoes, an activity they performed to perfection and enjoyed. On the other hand, they visited the “Casa de la Esperanza”, a home where about 30 grandparents live, who have nowhere to spend the night. For them this was the first experience to meet and share with grandparents in a community dining room, they loved it so much that they want to include it in their volunteer program..
