On May 12, the Proyecto Unión´s family celebrated a dream come true, one that can only be achieved with dedication and effort. For 7 years, Juan David Marín, a young man from Caldas, came to the capital wanting to get ahead, work and study to help his family, on his path God placed Dr. Fernando Quintero, Director of the Fundación Proyecto Unión, who did not hesitate to show him the route to reach that desired dream.
The doors were opened to him at the Foundation to carry out various tasks, supporting the reception and coordination of Casa de los Ángeles, where he always demonstrated his commitment and interest in social work, giving his best to the service of others. As a good “paisa”, he was always characterized by his welcoming, cheerful and talkative style, qualities that added to his gift of people, made him assume the functions as Coordinator of the Foundation’s Volunteer Program. His journey through the organization shaped and enriched him as a human being, filling him with sufficient reasons to guide the course of his life towards the social sciences, therefore, thanks to a student scholarship and the support of the Foundation, he advanced his professional career in psychology in the Minuto de Dios University at a distance.
With perseverance and sacrifice, his dream came true. Now Juan David has a lot to do and deliver, he is the pride of his parents, since he is the first professional in the family and they, who traveled from Manizales to accompany him on this special occasion, are happy not only because of his degree , but because of the great human being that he is: “Fercho taught you to have a generous heart to help many people” and that makes them even more proud.
Currently he works as Social Manager of the Foundation and his mission consists of locating children who require the support of the Foundation; “It has been 7 years of constant learning, putting our soul and hat to everything we do at the foundation,” said Juan David.
