In order to provide emotional and physical support to infants in special conditions such as abandonment, cognitive and physical disabilities, diseases that are difficult to manage, such as genetic syndromes, cerebral palsy, cardiopulmonary, liver and kidney diseases, among others. The Fundación Proyecto Unión and Doctor Clown established a voluntary agreement. This alliance made it possible for a group of hugging volunteers to come to the Santa Rita de Cascia Home today to give all their love, knowledge and experience to the benefit of the babies of the home.
This large team of huggers has the following objectives: to humanize the care of babies, helping to increase weight and regulate their temperature, to support feeding moments, to monitor the process, as well as to periodically train the volunteers “huggers” for the proper performance of the work. Volunteers who wish to be part of the “Hugs of Life” program require a high level of responsibility, constancy and dedication to hug and cradle babies in the house, meeting all the criteria established and signed in the confidentiality and information management agreement.
Thanks to our volunteers Adriana, Sandra, Alexandra and Elsa for performing this love therapy that becomes hugs of life for all the babies in the house, the feeling and warmth of a mother make possible a better development and quality of life for those children, who were not able to count on their mothers in the first stage of their lives and today are part of the Santa Rita de Cascia Home.
