Cisco’s solidarity and commitment to Fundación Proyecto Unión has been exemplary over the years. Since joining our family and becoming strategic allies, they have shown that actions speak louder than words.
In May and early June, two virtual chats were held with the company’s and the Foundation’s staff, where the mission we carry out on behalf of children and older adults in street situations was presented up close.
These talks were just the beginning of a great experience, last June 14, 50 Cisco employees participated in an on-site volunteering at the facilities of Centro de Vida in Tocancipá; the day began with the planting of 50 trees and native plants in the Sabana Ecoparque Nature Reserve, each tree represented each of the children currently living in the foundation, also made a tour of the Nature Reserve, where they learned a little of the history of our Muisca ancestors.
The day ended at the Hogar Amparo Quin, where the volunteers dedicated themselves to various tasks: helping to feed the children, folding clothes, helping in the laundry, labelling products and adapting the sensory space that the children use daily as a recreational area. Each small action carried out was a reminder that we have countless ways to help and that although they may seem insignificant, these actions have a profound and lasting impact.
It is worth noting the willingness and commitment of each Cisco volunteer; the importance of this company as an ally is invaluable, as they not only actively participate in our corporate volunteer program, but they have also contributed significantly to our growth, from the beginning, they joined our #SueñosenConstrucción with the donation of a room in the second phase of the ‘Hogar Amparo Quin’, now their goal is to join the fourth phase with another room for the children.
Cisco has become much more than an ally; they are our friends and a family that believes in our mission. Thanks to their support, we continue to write better stories!
