Aware of the need to apply their knowledge in a timely manner to the vulnerable child population of our country, the eighth and ninth semester medical students of Universidad Javeriana and a pediatric resident began their social practice under the supervision of Dr. Catalina Camacho, a pediatrician at San Ignacio Hospital and the leadership of Dr. Gabriel Lago.
This social practice, which was being carried out some time ago in the home, will have the permanent presence of future professionals in Santa Rita de Cascia Home of the Fundación Proyecto Unión, in this way will strengthen the care of 62 children with complex diseases living in our home.
The directors, caregivers, nurses and administrative staff of the Project Union Foundation are most pleased with the strengthening of this practice, as the health and well-being of each child is our priority. The scope of the agreements with the Hospital San Ignacio and the Universidad Javeriana make it possible for us to fulfil our mission of restoring hope to the most needy children in our country.
