In recent days, the Director of the Fundación Proyecto Unión, Fernando Quintero, received the visit of Frances Ristol, Director of (CECTAC) Center for Studies of the Center for Assisted Therapies with Animals of Spain, in order to sign an alliance in which was sealed the commitment to share all its knowledge and experience on the subject to contribute to the quality of life of people, through Animal Assisted Interventions (IAA).
Although this issue is still under development in our country, the goal of this union will result in the professionalization of 03 members of the Foundation, who are currently training, so that they, together with the canines, who are already part of this great team, will form a duo that will work for the benefit of children with disabilities and complex diseases in our country.
Thanks to this new partnership, efforts will be made to benefit the children of our country, through the acquisition and use of the resources, programmes and specialities of each of the two organizations, in order to improve the cognitive, auditory, motor and social skills of the beneficiary children and thus improve their quality of life.
On the other hand, it will open the way for the development of the “Sea Dogs, Hairs that Heal” Program, at its headquarters in Tocancipá, to carry out training and advice to the staff selected by the Foundation and to achieve a unit of assisted interventions with FPU canines, with the respective certifications of the programs.
