In order to help and create awareness about the realities that affect the neediest populations in our country, a group of 30 volunteers led by Laura Carrion and Daniel Torres, members of the Collective Conscience organization, donate part of their time to plan and launch solidarity actions for the benefit of this type of population. In this case, the elderly street dwellers, beneficiaries of the Fundación Proyecto Unión.
Aware of the problem that affects street grandparents, who live in the center of the capital, on this occasion the members of the organization carried out a campaign to obtain the necessary resources to assemble 40 toilet kits that arrived in a timely manner to improve their conditions. . Each of the boxes delivered was marked with the name of the beneficiary to make them feel valued and loved. They contained essential elements for hygiene such as: toothbrush, toothpaste, toilet paper, shampoo, soap, talcum powder, comb and razor blade. A very special detail on this occasion was the packaging, donated in honor of a deceased person who felt great affection for grandparents.
“Our goal is to make grandparents feel that their life is important to us and despite the difficult situation, we want to make them feel special. Although due to the pandemic we cannot visit them, we want to show them that they are not alone, that they are present in our lives and express our affection for them, ”said Laura Carrión, leader of the group
